In television drama, with rehearsals largely a thing of the past, there is little time to make mistakes and have another go. With scenes being shot faster these days, you have to know the techniques in order to effectively create character and not lose the key moments of a scene. The first take is often the only take.
This three day course aims to give you the keys to acting for camera with total confidence. Don’t let technical concerns hold you back and come between your character and your audience. This course will help you release your talent to give your best performance on the day.
Working with an experienced television director on practical screen exercises, the course offers an enjoyable and hands-on learning experience. These exercises culminate in a scene that is rehearsed and shot on location and professionally edited. Each actor is then sent a DVD of their final scene, which can then be used on a showreel along with extensive course notes.
Course Fee: £250

'Teaching points were made in situ ‘as and when’ – applied practical knowledge was really helpful. Excellent written notes given in support. Small number of students therefore kept everyone involved for most of the time' - Janet Harrison, course participant
